Red Deer Leads
Code of Conduct and Ethics
Membership in Red Deer Leads is a privilege extended to business owners and executives committed to professionalism, integrity, and mutual accountability. This Code of Conduct supports the Association’s bylaws and guides expectations for member behaviour, participation, and eligibility.
Members must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on Red Deer Leads, its members, and the broader Red Deer business community. Behaviour or business practices that harm the reputation of the Association may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership.
Members are expected to operate honestly, transparently, and in compliance with all applicable laws and professional standards. Fraud, misrepresentation, or deceptive practices are strictly prohibited. Where a member’s profession requires a higher ethical standard, that standard applies.
Members must act in good faith when giving or receiving referrals, respond in a timely and professional manner, honour commitments, and deliver services as promised. All referral-related conduct reflects on both the referring member and the Association
Members will treat fellow members, guests, and the public with courtesy and respect. Harassment, discrimination, aggressive behaviour, or public disparagement of members is not tolerated. Concerns should be addressed privately through established Association channels. Members are expected to maintain professionalism in meetings, digital communications, and public forums, including social media.
Information shared within Red Deer Leads—including business details, personal matters, and internal discussions—must remain confidential unless explicit permission is granted. Membership lists and contact information may not be used for unsolicited marketing.
Active participation is a core requirement of membership. Members are expected to attend meetings regularly, contribute meaningfully, and respect meeting structure and timeframes. Failure to meet participation standards may result in a review of membership status.
Members must disclose any conflicts of interest and avoid high-pressure or inappropriate solicitation. Association events may not be used to promote unrelated or unsuitable business activities.
Members acknowledge that their conduct inside and outside the Association impacts Red Deer Leads. Repeated or serious breaches of this Code may result in disciplinary action, including termination.
Concerns regarding member conduct may be reported confidentially to the President or, where appropriate, another designated officer. Retaliation against members who raise concerns in good faith is prohibited.
The Board of Directors has full authority to interpret and enforce this Code. Disciplinary action may include written warnings, board review, or termination of membership. Board decisions are final.
All members must acknowledge and agree to this Code as a condition of membership and renewal. Continued membership signifies ongoing compliance.
